The BBC reported that the ongoing protest by Indian farmers was debated in British Parliament. Several Labour, Liberal Democrats and Scottish National Party MPs on Monday expressed concern over the safety of protesters and the status of press freedom in India. And urged that UK officials address these concerns with India when Prime Minister Boris Johnson visits the country, which is expected later this year.
One minsiter said ; Whilst this is an exciting time for the UK-India partnership, it does not hinder us from raising difficult issues,” adding that “candid discussions” on a range of issues will form part of Boris Johnson’s planned visit to India in the coming months.
Another minister Virendra Sharma an opposition minister from West London, with a large Punjabi diaspora commented ;
“Both sides need to step back and recognize the need to come to an agreement… I hope the government will commit to helping that cause and offer British skills in a negotiation and compromise to help both sides to bring this issue to a close,”
The debate had stemmed from an e-petition that attracted over 100,000 signatures on the parliamentary website.
A country whose health care system was in disarray a few months ago and whose people are getting vaccines Made in India had a cheek to discuss a political tamasha going on in India, instead of their own gross mismanagement. Are they paying these Indian made minsters to rake up Indian issues or the local issues of their own constituencies in UK.
This is very very sad and although the Bhartiya Govt has opposed this in strong terms and even called the British envoy here in Delhi and called it a grosss interference in internal politics of the country. The Bhartiya High Commission issued a statement ;
"We deeply regret that rather than a balanced debate, false assertions – without substantiation or facts – were made, casting aspersions on the largest functioning democracy in the world and its institutions,” "However, when aspersions are cast on India by anyone, irrespective of their claims of friendship and love for India or domestic political compulsions, there is a need to set the record straight,"
Although , this is not a new trend, West has been muddling in Bhartiya affairs since its inception, but since 2014, Many Indians have also joined them in creating hurdles for Bharat. A few weeks ago the Canadian President extended his support to Indian Farmers, because he had many Sikhs from Punjab to appease, Hence, in my opinion, this needs to be responded strongly, Not only by the Govt but by the people of Bharat.
Let them hear our voices loud and clear that just a handful of Leftists and Punjabis in their countries can not dictate us WHAT WE OUGHT TO BE DOING.
The Punjabi diaspora is misusing their affluence. Instead of working for the Nation - they originaly hail from, they are tarnishing its image.
We all need to send a strong message to those Idiot Indians settled abroad that - They have no right to humiliate the Country for their own vested interests, if they continue doing this they will end up NATIONLESS. A day may come, when the Whites in Britain may start kicking them on their arses and there will be no one to listen to their pleas.
My advise to them is that Bharat believes in SECULARISM, and they must stop behaving like Tribal heads who can not think beyond their tribe, religion and community. A few Sikhs settled abroad are doing a great disservice to the Nation they come from. Bharat will not tolerate these separatist tendencies and it would be better for peace and tranquility that they give up working against Nation’s interest and nursing separatist sentiments.
The relatives of these people residing in Bharat also have a responsibility, they must avoid emboldening them( those residing in foreign countries) and fall prey to their machinations, because, their dreams will never come true and it will only hamper the peace in their own state.
Second, Britain also must realize that If India can take on China, it has the ability to stand firm against this Third rate power. The erstwhile Indian Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, had aptly said this hours before Queen Elizabeth just began her state visit to India in 1997 -
''Britain is a third-rate power nursing illusions of grandeur of its colonial past. It created Kashmir when it divided India. Now it wants to give us a solution.''
I think if the British PM Boris Johnson is planning to visit Bharat this year with THIS KIND OF BAGGAGE then He is asking for a trouble here and I will not be surprised that It may turn out to be a flop visit and also will not be surprised if his whole route right from the Airport to the Hotel he gets to see ; BLACK FLAGS.
This is new Bharat , the Khalistanis nursing separatist sentiments, the Leftists and other anti India forces residing abroad must realize that if they CONTINUE to behave in this manner ; THEY MAY END UP BURNING THEIR FINGERS.
