Can India Trust Taliban is not the right question rather Why should India trust Taliban should be the question that needs to be answered.
Because, when last time they were in power India had a tumultuous year full of violence.
What have the Taliban done to foster that belief?
Just few words by a Taliban leader that they need India to maintain trade and commerce relations can not be enough to repose trust on them.
Right now even the most gullible knows that the Taliban leadership is desperately looking for recognition from world community and Pakistan Foreign minister is on a spree, visiting countries after countries for that.
Once it gets that recognition, will it not be business as usual ; Jehad.
The world has already reconciled to Taliban’s capture of Afghanistan and USA is now sharing intelligence with Taliban about ISIS-K group.
How fast the relations change in International politics?
India today finds itself in a kind of a stiff challenge because on one side, is its border dispute with expansionist China that has to be contained, another side is Pakistan which is in high spirits after the Taliban takeover that is now looking for opportunities to rake up violence in Kashmir.
The recent events have also thrown up few more questions ;
Can USA be trusted as a reliable ally when it comes to dealing with China and terrorism?
What if USA and China arrive at a trade agreement?
Will Quad have any significance then?
Will it be prudent to sideline/cold shoulder time tested Russia which has always been a reliable ally of India?
