Election Results ; Nation is Bigger than an Individual

The Lok Sabha election results have undoubtedly shocked the BJP leadership, many staunch Modi supporters, and even Rahul Gandhi.

Although I am not a political expert, and not fully qualified to evaluate the reasons behind the BJP's setback (particularly for Mr. Modi) whose seats reduced from 303 to 240, However, I am confident that Mr. Modi will still be able to form the government. 

Regardless of who forms the government, this unexpected result will certainly have significant repercussions, bringing many issues to light:

1. The stronger opposition can now provide more teeth to some important Institutions, For instance, The Auditor General of India (CAG) to release audit reports on public spending on Swachh Bharat, Smart City, Ujjwala, and Ayushman Bharat without fear. The nation will finally learn the true efficacy of these initiatives, revealing the government's honesty.
2. Economic surveys halted or manipulated by this government, such as the consumption survey, census, and survey of unorganized enterprises, will be released, showing the country's real economic picture. Many things shoved inside the cupboard will come tumbling down like ; Who benefited the most in Ayodhya land sale. 
3. The full truth behind the territory encroached by the Chinese in recent years will come to light, as has been reported by various agencies including social activist Sonam Wangchuk.
4. The people's message is clear, Bharat is too vast and complex to be managed by Savarkar's parochial(narrow) outlook.  Dr. Ambedkar while discussing about Hindu-Muslim problem had stated in his book Thoughts on Pakistan, "if Congress is vague about minority rights Savarkar is illogical and strange and is creating a most dangerous situation for the safety and security of India”.
5. The bulldozers will be parked, and governments will proceed legally in demolishing houses and disrupting families.
6. The weak, lower caste, and minorities will breathe more freely.
7. The media will operate independently, freeing the nation from biased portrayals and excessive glorification.
8. Society is saved from the self-destruction caused by communalization.
9. The myth propagated by the BJP’s IT Cell that India's development is solely due to Modi will be debunked. People will realize that the best economic reforms in India occurred under coalition governments, not during Modi's rule.
10. The arrogance of party cadres, including those in Bajrang Dal and various other groups that emerged in the last decade, will diminish. There will be greater control over cow vigilantes, preventing them from easily evading justice with the help of BJP/RSS/VHP after lynching innocent people.
11. Intellectuals and scholars, who retreated into their shells fearing isolation and harassment by uncouth/uncivilised behaviour of some BJP's ardent supporters, will once again be able to speak freely and be heard.
12. Indians have shown that, unlike Germans and Italians who were swayed by Fascism and ideas of racial supremacy, they are more mature and will not allow society to be divided in the name of religion. All those who have not shown maturity, here is now an opposrtunity.
13. The ardent BJP supporters, previously blinded by Modi's theatrics, will not only call this man's sham but will also realize the importance of having a strong opposition for their own welfare and also  for a healthy democracy. 
14. Rahul Gandhi has received a new lease of life. While many couldn't see beyond Modi, there were those who felt their future in India wasn't secure without Rahul. This sentiment isn't limited to Muslims alone.
15. Predictably, the hardcore elements of the Hindutva brigade will now blame their fellow Hindus for this outcome, like any fundamentalists would; sayings like "Hindu dogla hai" and "Jaichand se kuch nahin seekha" will be heard. They had started believing that India is Modi and Modi is India. Similarly, Muslim fundamentalists also blame their fellows for setbacks, calling them Mir Jafar. The habit of cursing and abusing fellow countrymen need to go.
16. Those justifying that entire opposition got united to defeat Modi, must learn that -This is what India is . It is not for one Race, or for One Religion or for one language group and the numerous parties that we have represent those different groups and take care of their respective interests.

Finally, what has happened today, has happened for the good of the society and the nation. Let’s remember a Nation is always bigger than an individual.
