There is an acute shortage of Remsdvir , acute shortage of Beds, acute shortage of Oxygen and obviously shortage of Health care staff in many states. The news reports show Patients are running from one hospital to another in search of beds.
Why and how have we arrived at this stage so suddenly is a point to ponder ?Suddenly, why everyone has started demanding for Vaccination, when a few weeks ago...they were doubting the efficacy of it?
The answers that come to mind are as follows ;
One. The Administration Pre maturely started celebrating the Good work ; that they have successfully managed the Covid crisis.
Two. Once again, despite the time available, The administration did not prepare itself adequately, thinking that Worse is over.
Three. We the people have still not grasped the challenges the Virus has thrown to us and are trying to grapple with it in our usual style, that we have got used to, over a period of time. Many of us thought Science has answers for all the problems. There were many who did not want to Vaccinate, there were many who doubted the efficacy of vaccines, there were many who preached that Virus is a hoax and only immunity will save us...there were many who never wore masks and called Virus a propaganda by Govt and corporates to earn money. The current situation is the cumulative effect of all this.
Four. Administration's lackadaisical attitude towards Religious ceremonies and religious festivals. Why stringent steps not taken and curfew not imposed on Holi... is something that Administration has to answer particularly when they knew that our resources are limited ; can not provide beds, ambulances, medicines and oxygen in hospitals to treat so many patients.
Five. Why are Politicians organizing Political rallies, Rath yatras when they know that the Health Care system is bloody defunct and rotten and is incapable of handling stress. Why were they playing with the lives of people.
Six. Why could they not Ban all Political Rallies and instead use Technology for that purpose.
The Virus has spread now, we initially thought that , it could be controlled by Vaccine , now we know, that even Vaccine has limited efficacy.
What next then? What can be done to mitigate the risks involved ; health, business, jobs and so on.
In my opinion the answer is ; SELF DISCIPLINE and RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR.
When we say that We need to learn to live with this virus, it actually means that We need to ;
One. Discipline ourselves. Learn to Follow laid down instructions without making hue and cry. If a distance is to be maintained then it needs to get into our DNA that it has to be Bloody well maintained.
Two. Go back to Drawing boards and rework the Business plans and Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) so that we are able to function effectively in this new environment.
Two. Vaccinate ourselves.
Three. Avoid crowded places and touching things.
Four. All organisations, even Shopkeepers, Barber shop walla, Tea walla, Sabji wala need to prepare SOPs keeping in mind the new environment and implement them ruthlessly.
And Lastly, STOP POLITICISATION, wherever possible and whatever possible ; Help the Organisations and Administration in improving things... and implementing the instructions.
Once, the situation becomes normal, we can always sort out the Netas for the dereliction of responsibilities...there will be many elections ahead... but for that we need to survive.

 The Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh's transfer and letter once again brings to the fore the worst about Indian Police.
The manner in which evidence related to Arushi murder case was tempered with, Susanth Singh Rajput’s death enquiry conducted, the manner in which Disha Salian’s case was hushed up and her case file went missing, kangna ranaut’s house was demolished under Police protection despite the court’s stay order, witch-hunt launched by the Mumbai Police machinery on the TRP issue led by Param Bir Singh, SI Vaze’s reinstatement, and now Parambir’s transfer and then his letter blaming the home minister of the state conveys the deep rot that has set in, in our Law enforcement agency – The Indian Police.
Its not about the Mumbai Police, the entire Indian Police has become unprofessional and ineffective and the reason behind it are two fold ; Ineffective Leadership and Politcal Interference.
SC and HC very rightly snubbed the Mumbai Police Commissioner who was prior to his transfer, like an obedient child following the dictats of his Political masters. The Supreme Court while making sharp observations against Mumbai Commissioner of Police Param Bir Singh stated ;
 The parties to this case were hunky dory for a long time. Now they have fallen apart.

The streets of the Indian cities had never been known to be safe havens for women, even if they are busy streets. Not a day passes when one does not hear a case of woman being raped and killed in India. Besides the society, these incidents speak volumes about the Lack of efficiency of State Police.
One may argue that society also has a role to play but my view is that the Law enforcement agency has a bigger role to play in this as it has failed to project itself as a Deterrent. There are incidents where the goons even pelted stones at the Police and chased them till the Police station and the Police could not even arrest them. The example of Palgarh is enough to tell us that Presence of Police is now no more a deterrence to the Goons.
Yesterday, while driving to my office through Ring road in Indore, I noticed a young poor girl being beaten and dragged by a Boy. As it was a One way road and there was traffic , I could not take an immediate turn so to confirm , I took a U Turn from the next Crossing. The Boy by then had dragged her to the service road, there were lots of people on the service road and as the girl was also not shouting for help, I thought of ringing up the Police control number 100.
