This was the article that was written just after the election results were out and the Post Poll violence broke out in Bengal wherein the BJP supporters(specifically) were targetted.

Although after the violence both sides took the help of some doctored and fake videos and other means to prove their point, and therefore it was difficult to ascertain whose claim was right.

Now, notwithstanding the above, with the return of some big wigs to TMC who had joined BJP, prior to elections, thinking that it will win the elections, prove this point that ; Perhaps Democracy did not win here.It is the Fear that has won because "The average man does not want to be free. he simply wants to be safe." (H. L. Mencken).

If the Netas are scared then imagine what would have been the plight of a common man, had he voted against the ruling party in Bengal.

So, now the following questions arise ;

1. What has the Central Govt done to ensure that the democratic values and rights provided by the Constitution are upheld.

2. How long can the Central Govt overlook this tyranny and allow its citizens to suffer.

It may prima facie appear that Govt is fighting this battle politically and is so giving this tyrannical ruler of Bengal a long rope to hang herself finally.

However, the moot point is ; Why should the common man continue to suffer and live under fear,oppression and coercion ? Why should the Common man be denied his fundamental right of expressing his political views and opinions without fear and duress?

It prima facie seems that farmers protest is losing its popularity. As the time is passing, number of farmers are reducing at protest sites around Delhi. Though their leaders are trying their best to attract more farmers from different khaps/panchayat but the turnout is less than expected.

What can be the reason behind losing popularity? It is essential to enquire this strange behaviour because if the new land reforms would have adversely impacted the farmers’ interest then the farmers from all over the country would have continued the stir, even if they could not travel to the National Capital. Therefore, there are likely to be certain economic and other factors which may be having an impact on this diminishing interest.

It is pointless to discuss here the problems/challenges faced by Indian farmers as now they are well known to all, however, Before we focus on the new laws and its impact we need to understand in brief that why farming has become "घाटेकासौदा" and why the previous Govts could not address these problems in last three decades :

  1. The previous years governments did not focus on providing long term solutions for turning farming into a profitable industry .As their main focus was on giving subsidies on producing certain crops which resulted in shifting focus of farmers on producing certain crops which attracts subsidies i. e. Wheat, rice, soybean. Later on it became difficult for farmers to come out of this vicious cycle and shifting to other profitable crops like peanuts, fruits crops etc. Later on due to this cycle, the production was reduced while the production cost increased which resulted in increasing losses to farmers.
  2. Many governments in past primarily focused on giving doles ; free electricity, free water, loan waiver etc etc. It might have given temporary reprieve to farmers but in the long run made farmers more dependent on Govt which in turn failed to provide any Long term solution, as a result the farmers continued to suffer and the suicides increased.

The Current Government’s Approach.

The present government, on the other hand, has focused on these basic issues and started working on long term solutions

In my article a month ago I had mentioned that  Mamta Banerjee has devised a new method to face the Modi threat, by getting on to a WHEEL CHAIR which may keep her in power for another Five years and it should not surprise anyone if Bengal Votes for the WHEEL CHAIR as it may have already entered that vicious circle as Bihar finds itself in, today.

Laloo Prasad Yadav and his wife In their 10-15 years of rule, had turned Bihar into a lawless jungle. All the skilled and best brains had to migrate elsewhere in search of jobs and for better education, because Bihar could give them neither the Jobs nor the much needed modern education and skills.
The elections do take place in Bihar, Govts are elected, which may be rated as better than what Laloo provided but bringing back the talent and taking Bihar out of that vicious circle of mismanagement has been proving to be an uphill task, because there is no talent left in the state and the environment is still not conducive for investements.
If one takes into account the scale of violence, murder, loot, pillaging that took place during elections and post elections, in Bengal, one can state that Bengal may soon going to be another Bihar. The Best brains and skilled people of Bengal are already migrating to other parts of the country.

An illegal migrant is defined as people either who entered the country without the proper documents, or stayed on beyond the permitted time. As per the Citizenship Act of 1955, an illegal immigrant cannot get citizenship in India.
The Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 passed by Lok Sabha on Monday, proposes to accord citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christian migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. It, naturally, implies that migrants, who are from any other community, from these countries won’t be eligible for citizenship. The bill also relaxes the provisions for “Citizenship by naturalisation”. The proposed law also reduces duration of residency from existing 11 years to just five years for people belonging to the same six religions and three countries.
 Many of us must be thinking that ;
 Why was it necessary for the Govt to bring this amendment.
Is it that BJP is only interested in political gains and fulfill one of its poll promises.
Will the SC over rule this law?
Is it against the basic principle of Constitution i.e. Equality.
Is it against the Muslims.
The answers to these questions are very essential to understand before we all form an opinion.
